Effectiveness in environmental protection and implementation of sustainable development principle

There is a significant difference between environmental protection and sustainable development1. Environmental protection is focused first of all on natural capital (P), whereas sustainable development should rely on integrated approach and should include all the three types of capital, namely economic (E), human (L) and natural (P). The Polish legislator in Art. 11, sections 1 and 2 of the revised Environmental Protection and Shaping Act distinguished between the problems of sustainable development and environmental protection issues by introducing the obligation to account for environmental protection and sustainable development in didactic and educational activities.
