Pokój - sprawiedliwość - prawa człowieka : refleksje na gruncie nauki społecznej Kościoła

The article aims at situating and defining, basing on the Church social studies, such important values as peace, justice and human rights. These are mutually conditioned values. In the light of these studies, peace is the elementary man’s and population’s value. Its idea is not the lack of war and conflicts but harmony of people’s being and living together in a society between and with themselves. Peace understood in this way is closely connected with justice. It is understood as a strict respect to goods and values owed to a man as a human being and community of people. Understood in this way justice, in turn, has a direct connection with human rights. As social and solidarity human rights safeguard these goods and values protection. Thus there is no justice without basic rights of a man as a human being and as a community of people. Eventually there is a close connection between peace, justice and human rights. Complying with basic human rights is a condition of justice which is a condition of peace.
