It was carried out research on the diatomit sorbents, used to remove of hazardous substances, from oil spills. It used the two types of available sorbents in the market, with a different bulk density and particle size of composition. The sorbents had a similar chemical composition but different granulometric composition. It was mark like the D1 and C1 sample. As a sorbets used heating oil Ekoterm Plus and unleaded petrol 95 octane.
