Doświadczenia operacji wojskowych Unii Europejskiej na Półwyspie Bałkańskim
The events in the Balkans prompted the European Union’s Member States to develop their own military capabilities. The article features the EU military operation in Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) - Concordia, the problems of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s stabilization (operation Althea) and various forms of support for military reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, the operation has not solved all the problems but the fact of the mission’s reduction does not have a negative influence on the security in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Problems that this country has to face are of a non-military character. Still the most difficult ones remain ethnic antagonisms which cause that the Bosnian country is weak and few citizens identify with it in spite of international aid.
