O edukacji dla rozwoju zrównoważonego raz jeszcze

Celem ogłoszonej przez Narody Zjednoczone Dekady Edukacji dla Rozwoju Zrównoważonego jest wpisanie na stałe tej koncepcji w system edukacji i wpływanie na kształtowanie się społeczeństwa, które będzie w stanie odpowiedzieć na wyzwania przyszłości. Podejmowane działania mają wspierać integrację wartości, zasad, praktyk rozwoju zrównoważonego (RZ), programy kształcenia, a także stwarzać bodźce do łączenia poszczególnych inicjatyw i transferu praktyk edukacyjnych w zakresie RZ.

The Education Decade for Sustainable Development announced by the United Nations aims at the inclusion of this concept into educational system, thus influencing societies and make them able to respond to the future challenges. Undertaken activities support integration of values, rules, practices for sustainable development and educational programmes. They also enhance combination of individual initiatives and transfer of educational practices regarding sustainable development. Discussions conducted on numerous Polish universities show a big step forward in sustainable development education, although it is not built yet in form of a system. Such a situation refers to both educational offer and almost total indifference of The Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Therefore, introduction of a subject of sustainable development into educational system on university level became a necessary step. Deep changes are needed. First of all strategic aims of sustainable development should be defined. Rules and values of sustainable development should be basis of university management (human resources policy, organizational culture, purchase policy, report system). Only compliance of the declaration with a practice could authenticate education for sustainable development.
