As human resources are the most valuable ones, an insight into the lobor force structure of contemporary enterprises and its management is vital. During the last decade, the labor force of many enterprises has undergone fundamental transformations. The new reality is a highly diverse labor force. The dimensions along which employees differ and the need to achieve both consistency and diversity pose real challenges for the management of contemporary enterprises. The aim of this paper is to highlight the idea, specificity and importance of diversity management. In this paper, the review of the literature on diversity management is conducted as the background for the study of transportation and logistics sector.
