Przedstawiono uwarunkowania i ograniczenia pomiaru chropowatości powierzchni za pomocą profilografów igłowych. Omówiono i przedyskutowano statystyczne modelowanie struktury mikrogeometrycznej powierzchni i jej dwuwymiarowej reprezentacji - profilu. Podano i przeanalizowano konwencjonalne i niekonwencjonalne parametry chropowatości powierzchni elementów maszyn. Określono związane z własnościami mikrogeometrycznymi powierzchni parametry przydatne do charakteryzowania procesów tribologicznych dla różnych warunków smarowania.

The conditions and limitations of the surface roughness measurements by means of the stylus profilometers have been presented. The statistical modelling of the microgeometric structure of surface and its two-dimensional representation - profile - has been discussed. The conventional and non-conventional parameters of the surface texture have been given and analysed. The microgeometry parameters of the surface, that are useful for characterization of the tribology processes under several lubrication conditions, have been determined.
