Recykling odpadów PET

It can be assumed that the amount of PET bottles introduced into circulation in Poland is approximately 8 thousands per month. However, the part recovered from the wastes is only 450 tones per month i.e. approx. 6%. It is a small amount in comparison with results obtained in developed countries. EU Instruction concerning packages imposes requirements dealing with recovery or elimination of wastes in the manner safe for environment. Beginning from the 1st of July 2001 the package wastes must be recovered also in Poland in amount of 50-65% and 25-45% must be recycled. These requirements are made by European Union. The "Ergpet" firm (Plastics Plants "ERG" in Pustków, Poland) developed a new own high-purity technology of PET milling. Installation will be put in motion in March 2002. Researches on PET chemical recycling and technologies developed by Plastic Plants in Pustków got high assessment in the context of environment protection. In the year 2000, the Plants won a reward for recycling and gold medal in "Poleko 2000 Fairs" for a resin for polymer-concrete.
