Illumination of selected buildings in Trencin

Trencin, mentioned in the chronicles since 11th century is one of the oldest cities in Slovakia. It`s strategic position in close proximity to three passes in the Carpathians, near trade routes made Trencin important place and administrative centre of the region. The night image of the city is defined by the public illumination, that serves mostly for better visibility on the roads during night hours. The illumination of significant buildings and historical monuments is very important part of overall illumination of the city and its state should represent the status of the city. The study explain the illumination project of five selected buildings in the historical centre of Trencin.

Trencin, wzmiankowany w kronikach od XI wieku, jest jednym z najstarszych miast Słowacji. Jego strategiczna lokalizacja, bliskość trzech kupieckich szlaków karpackich, czyni z Trencina ważne miejsce i administracyjne centrum regionu. Nocny obraz miasta określony jest przez oświetlenie publiczne, które służy przede wszystkim zapewnieniu widoczności na drogach w porze nocnej. Oświetlenie najważniejszych budynków i obiektów historycznych jest bardzo ważną częścią ogólnej iluminacji miasta a jego poziom powinien odzwierciedlać status miasta. W badaniach przedstawiono projekty iluminacji pięciu wybranych budynków znajdujących się w centrum historycznym Trencina.
