W pracy przedstawiono korzyści płynące z wdrożeń systemów RTC na przykładzie sterowania systemem kanalizacyjnym w Wiedniu (1.7 min mieszkańców) i Dreźnie (0.5 min mieszkańców). Przedyskutowano cele instalacji poszczególnych systemów, doświadczenia z wdrożeń i korzyści z nich płynące. Analizie poddano również metodykę wdrażania systemów RTC w kontekście sterowania pracą systemów kanalizacyjnych.
