Mechanizm powstawania białej warstwy w kontekście zużycia narzędzi podczas kształtowania stalowych elementów konstrukcyjnych

Kształtowanie na gorąco lub ciepło elementów stalowych konstrukcyjnych stwarza warunki sprzyjające tworzeniu się na powierzchni narzędzi stalowych tzw. białej warstwy. Tworzenie się białej warstwy w wyniku procesów tribologicznych oraz przemian fazowych w warstwie wierzchniej narzędzi często odgrywa główną rolę w ich mechanizmie zużycia. W pracy przedstawiono morfologię białej warstwy tworzącej się na narzędziach podczas wyciskania elementów stalowych zderzaka kolejowego. Udało się uzyskać obraz białej warstwy pozwalający na zaproponowanie szczegółowej koncepcji mechanizmu jej tworzenia się.

Hot or warm forging of steel structural parts favors the formation of the white layer on the surface of steel tools. The formation of the white layer is the result of tribological processes, and phase transformations in the surface of the tools often plays the main role in the wear mechanisms in these tools. The morphology of the white layer forming on the surface of tools during the extrusion of steel parts of a railway bumper is presented in this work. The research enabled the analysis of the microstructure of the white layer as well as discussions and proposals of a detailed description of the white layer formation mechanisms.
