Assumptions of an Expert System for Navigator's Decision Support in Confined Waters

The paper presents the main idea and general structure of an expert system for the navigator's decision support in confined waters of Świnoujście harbour - berthing to Hutników Quay. The system constructed on the grounds of the gathered knowledge base, for a given type of ship and loading condition, generates results of encountered decision problems in the form of information about proposed adjustment of the main engine, helm and tugs controls. The results are presented by means of panoramic graphic interface equivalent to vector large scale ENC and text interface of commands.

Przedstawiono istotę i ogólną strukturę systemu eksperckiego wspierającego proces decyzyjny nawigatora na akwenie ograniczonym portu Świnoujście - podejście do Nabrzeża Hutników. System na podstawie bazy wiedzy dla danego typu statku o określonym stanie ładunkowym generuje wyniki rozwiązań problemów decyzyjnych w formie informacji o proponowanej nastawie maszyny głównej i steru oraz kącie i nastawie uciągu liny holowniczej. Wyniki prezentowano za pomocą panoramicznego interfejsu graficznego odpowiadającego mapie wektorowej o dużej skali oraz interfejsu tekstowego komend.
