W artykule przedstawiono wybraną problematykę procesów zabezpieczania zabytkowych wyrobisk Kopalni Soli „Wieliczka” na przykładach różnorodnych stosowanych technologii i metod podsadzania, szczelnej likwidacji i zabezpieczania komór obudową kotwową i drewnianą w aspekcie oceny prawidłowości rozwiązań technicznych.
The “Wieliczka” Salt Mine excavated salt for over 700 years. Today, it is the most popular underground tourist attraction in the world. As a result of mining operations over 2400 chambers and 250 kilometres of corridors were excavated which are now located beneath the town of Wieliczka. Mining works performed in the mine today are connected with the liquidation of certain non-monumental excavations, the protection of monumental ones, the preservation of the terrain above the mine and providing access to the underground historic monument to tourists. The article presents examples of mining work technologies used in the mine in the aspect of evaluating the correctness of applied technical solutions. The liquidation of the non-monumental section of the mine is performed by means of backfilling the earlier selected areas of the mine with a mixture of sand and fully saturated brine. Approximately 100,000 cu.m. of space is liquidated in the rock mass every year. Also, apart from this principle method, the liquidated chambers are filled with the product mined while reconstructing monumental excavations. On the other hand, the corridors in the vicinity of flood hazard areas are filled with a special mineral and cement filler guaranteeing tightness. Sporadically a dry form of backfilling is used. The historic chamber excavations are secured with anchors and/or wooden supports, e.g. casings. A geomechanical analysis is made prior to performing any securing works, as well as a historic and conservation study is prepared, technical plans are drawn and the technology for conducting works is chosen. The presented technologies have changed during the past years and were modified as a result of technical progress, the durability of securing works and optimalization of costs.
