Technological problems and limitations in reducing the body weight of an aluminum beverage can
The paper presents a historical overview of a metal can, in particular a beverage can made of aluminum alloys. The evolution of the can design is briefly discussed. The development trend related to the reduction of the can weight was highlighted. Against the background of the quality requirements of the packaging, the technical constraints in the can body manufacturing process – material and construction – are discussed.
W artykule przedstawiono rys historyczny puszki metalowej, w szczególności puszki napojowej ze stopów aluminium. Omówiono krótko ewolucję konstrukcji puszki. Zwrócono uwagę na trend rozwojowy związany z obniżeniem masy puszki. Na tle wymogów jakościowych opakowania omówiono materiałowe i konstrukcyjne ograniczenia techniczne w procesie wytwarzania korpusu puszki.
