Problematyka ekologiczna w ekonomii

As the XIX c. research confirms, already the Sumerian people, writing in cuneiform writing system were interested in ecology. Economic-ecological issues are mentioned in the oldest written texts: the Bible, the Hammurabi's Codex, the Iliad, the Odyssey. Ecology was present in the writings of Aristotle, Plato, Cato. The Renaissance used to treat social-economical problems dually. It created the ideological vision, at the same time trying to create categorical-methodological basis of economics. The environmental theme in the mercantile thought was treated with ambivalence. In the mercantile teachings the balance of the economical assets includes also the natural resources; furthermore natural environment is the limit of development.
