The aim of the article is to compare the information efficiency of the financial markets in selected European Union countries. The author investigates how these markets react to the National Bank announcement about the decision to change or not to change the level of the reference rate, according to the assumption of the efficient market hypothesis. In the presented research, the methods of event tests was used.
