Vero Italiano – niezwykły bohater powstania styczniowego. O literackiej biografii Elbano Stanislao de Bechi

The author of the article presents the character of Elbano Stanislao de Bechi – a hero of the January Uprising and his literary biography authored by Teresa Bojarska. The present author is interested in the biographer’s attitude to historical sources, her method of narrating and the relations between fiction and historical truth. The analysis is focused on Bojarska’s style of describing her characters, the romance thread of the novel as well as the creation of the hero’s fate against the background of the January Uprising.
