Personalpronomen im Schönhengst als mögliches Indiz für die Herkunft der deutschen Siedler

The language island Schönhengst (Hřebečsko) in Northern Moravia is characterized by the diphthongization of Middle-Upper-German short vowels /u/ and /i/. In the present article, the territorial distribution of a dialectal area is described according to the dialectal realization of the personal pronouns ‚ich, du, sie‘ as well as to the realization of selected common nouns. In addition, the article deals with the possible origin of the German settlers in Hřebečsko. Relevant historical facts and Wenker’s Atlas are taken into account as well as the views of E. Schwarz and W. Jungandreas on the origin and development of the short vowels /u/ and /i/ in Hřebečsko.

Die Sprachinsel Schönhengst in Nordmähren zeichnet sich durch diphthongische Realisierungen für mhd. /u/ und /i/ aus. Im vorliegenden Aufsatz wird die räumliche Unterteilung des erhobenen Sprachgebiets in Abhängigkeit von der mundartlichen Wiedergabe der Personalpronomen ‚ich, du, sie‘ sowie ausgewählter Gattungsnamen vorgestellt. Es wird ferner versucht, die Herkunft der deutschen Siedler im Schönhengst zu bestimmen, indem historische Fakten, der Digitale Wenker-Atlas sowie Feststellungen von E. Schwarz (1962) und W. Jungandreas (1937) in Bezug auf die Entwicklung von /u/ und /i/ im Schönhengst herangezogen werden.
