The article refers to a political changes using as an example, changes in the Polish legal system during the transition. article presents the changes that occurred in the regulation of states of emergency, in three polish acts. These acts are: the Constitution of 1952, a small constitution of 1992, the Constitution of 1997, now in force. Regulations in these acts, have been discussed using the theoretical infrastructure of states of emergency, developed in the Polish science of constitutional law. Use of these elements, allowed to show the changes in the provisions relating to states of emergency, from the communist period to modern times. Chapter Eleven of the current constitution, guarantees that the Republic of Poland is a country which respects the law in times of danger, and respects the rights and freedoms of man and citizen.
