At the present stage of development of linguistics of the greatest importance for the regional onomastic research that are a reflection of the cultural-historical and spiritual peculiarities of life of the people. In this article we analyze the structure features of the foundations of the names of Beshenkovichi district, Vitebsk region. The surnames of seven the largest settlements of the Beshenkovichi district, Vitebsk region: Ostrovno village, Bocheikovo village, Beshenkovichi township, Verhnee Krivino village, Drozdi village, Svecha village and Ulla township were used as material.
