Lob der Freiheit: zum Leben und Schaffen des Grünberger Verlegers Wilhelm Levysohn

Dziedzictwo kulturowe wydawcy Wilhelma Levysohna jest obecnie przechowywane w Archiwum Państwowym w Zielonej Górze oraz na stronach internetowych Zielonogórskiej Biblioteki Cyfrowej (ZBC). Na dzisiejszym Placu Pocztowym odsłonięto w 2007 r. tablicę pamiątkową ku czci Wilhelma i Ulricha Levysohnów. Natomiast zielonogórskie Towarzystwo Społeczno-Kulturalne Mniejszości Niemieckiej od kilku lat wydaje miesięcznik „Grünberger Monatsblatt”. Swoją nazwą i treścią dziennik nawiązuje do periodyku Levysohna z XIX w. Niniejszy artykuł, Pochwała wolności: życie i twórczość wydawcy z dawnego Grünbergu, Wilhelma Levysohna, jest hołdem dla wybitnego redaktora, posła i człowieka mediów reprezentującego trzy nacje, który potrafił w trwały sposób zarchiwizować polityczną, społeczną i kulturową dynamikę burzliwego XIX w.

The cultural heritage of the publisher Wilhelm Levysohn is today preserved in the State Archives of Zielona Góra and on the web pages of the Digital Library of Zielona Góra (ZBC). A commemorative plaque in honour of Wilhelm and Ulrich Levysohn was unveiled at today’s Plac Pocztowy (Postplatz) in 2007. On the other hand, the German minority of Zielona Góra, the Social-Cultural Society of the German Minority, has been publishing the Grünberger Monatsblatt for several years. The journal ties in with Levysohn’s periodical from the 19th century with its name and content. The present article is a tribute to the outstanding publisher, member of parliament and media man of three cultures, who was able to archive the political, social and cultural dynamics of the turbulent 19th century in a lasting way.
