Captivating still largely unknown story depicting the consequences of Pileckis assumed identity plus how he was hidden and nursed to health after his escape from Auschwitz

The paper tells a story of a fateful connection between Witold Pilecki, Polish officer, who allowed himself to be captured by the Nazis in order to infiltrate Auschwitz concentration camp (and to provide reports about German Nazis actions to the Allies in order to obtain Allied help to liberate the camp), and the two Polish Underground officers, husband and wife, Tomasz and Ludmila Serafinscy, who hid Pilecki for over three months in their home after his escape from Auschwitz, and who helped him to evade the Nazis and carry on his mission. Sadly, all of these three-heroic people, paid a very heavy price for their actions.
