The appraisal of quality of life of patients with diabetes type 2 is affected by many factors: age, sex, course of
the disease, performing of social roles, potential of adaptive forces and dealing with the disease. All activities and medical
interventions are meant to improve the quality of patients’ life. The big role in this range can play the treatment in health
resort hospital. The aim of this research was an attempt to evaluate the quality of life of the persons with type 2 diabetes healed in
health resort hospital. The research was conducted in Health Resort Hospital "Stary Dom Zdrojowy" in Krynica-Zdrój
among 101 patients with diabetes type 2. The diagnostic survey and questionnaire were adopted in this study. An original
questionnaire and the standardized WHO Quality of Life-Bref Questionnaire were used. The quality of the respondent' life after healing in health resort hospital was on the average level. Among all
examined quality of life domains existed positive correlations. The higher was the perception of health and life, the higher was the quality of life of patients. There was better life quality among economically active people which are married and
unmarried. With age the quality of life was dropping. The stay in the health resort hospital influenced on improvement of
well-being and overall health state of patients with diabetes type 2. In a great proportion of patients occurred: the reduction
of body mass and blood glucose level, increase of knowledge about diabetes type 2. The most of the respondents were
satisfied with the standard of the medical services. In order to improve the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes there should be used system actions,
for example: enhancement of financial expenditure for the Hospitals of the Health Resort with dialectological profile, enhancement
of referrals from NFZ for patients with type 2 diabetes.
