Telewizja a kapitał społeczny
"Society lost its sense of community, the sense which Alexis de Tocqueville described as the centre of culture" - assumed Robert Putnam. People stopped trusting each other as the atmosphere of mistrust dissuaded from civil life and violated social bonds. The process of ongoing lack of trust has been going on since 1850's and increased along with the spreading of television. This deeply rooted conviction is still present and is sustained by subsequent issues and translations of Putnam's works, while further research are being done to prove the Putman thesis. Only its in-depth reviews allow to ask for "TV acquittal".
