“WE ALL WEAR MASKS” A REAL FACE OF HUMAN BASED ON CRIME FICTION BY AHMET UMIT.

A purpose of this work is to show how various and colourful is an emotional and a behavioral world of human which is a leading theme in all books written by Ahmet Ümit. A human being and getting to know his psychology are the matters which author shows us in order to make us understand that every person is unique what’s more goodness and evil are the elements which construct the human soul. According to Ahmet Ümit every day we all wear masks and try to behave appropriate to the rules for good manners and behaviour. Being a mother, a father, a teacher, a writer and others are these roles which we play every day. But there is a moment when people breake the frames which are keeping them in right behaviour. This moment is called crime. Crime makes us taking off masks and showing our real face. That’s why Ahmet Ümit has choosen crime in order to show this very complicated psychology of the human being and traumas which are connected with it. In the first chapter of my work I wrote an outline of Ahmet Ümit’s biography and I presented in short all subject matters of Ahmet Ümit’s books. The second chapter as the title states – „İnsanları anlatmayı seviyorum” (I love telling about people) – is a presentation of psychological profiles which are related to the characters appearing in books written by Ahmet Ümit. This who live and obey the law as well as this who live and behave against it, because in books of this writer there are no good and bad people. We all are human beings and we all deserve respect, which doesn’t mean that crime shouldn’t bring punishment. The third chapter shows us how Ahmet Ümit sees Istanbul. He loves that city and feels emotional connection with it – he lives there more than twelve years – and always emphasizes that there is no such other place in the world like Istanbul.

Celem niniejszej pracy było ukazanie, jak barwny i różnorodny jest świat ludzkich uczuć i zachowań, który jest przewodnim tematem wszystkich utworów Ahmeta Ümita. Człowiek i poznawanie jego psychiki są kwestiami, które autor nam przedstawia, abyśmy zrozumieli, że każdy z nas jest inny i jedyny w swoim rodzaju, a dobro i zło to „pierwiastki”, które budują duszę istoty ludzkiej. Według Ahmeta Ümita codziennie zakładamy maski i dopasowujemy się do scenariusza napisanego przez reguły i zasady zachowań obowiązujące w naszym życiu poprzez odgrywanie ról bycia matką, ojcem, nauczycielem, pisarzem i temu podobnych. Jednak istnieje moment, kiedy człowiek wyłamuje się z ram go otaczających. Tym momentem jest zbrodnia. To ona sprawia, że zrzucamy maski i pokazujemy nasze prawdziwe oblicze. Dlatego właśnie Ahmet Ümit wybrał zbrodnię jako środek, który w pełni ukazuje bardzo skomplikowaną ludzką psychikę i traumy temu towarzyszące. W pierwszym rozdziale mojej pracy zamieściłam rys biograficzny autora oraz starałam się w skrócie przedstawić tematykę wszystkich utworów pisarza. Rozdział drugi, jak sam cytat głosi – „İnsanları anlatmayı seviyorum” (Kocham opowiadać o ludziach) – to przedstawienie profili psychologicznych bohaterów utworów Ahmeta Ümita. Zwykłych ludzi. Zarówno tych, którzy żyją zgodnie z prawem, jak i tych, którzy dopuścili się wykroczeń przeciwko prawu, ponieważ w utworach pisarza nie ma dobrych i złych. Każdy jest człowiekiem i zasługuje na szacunek, co nie umniejsza faktu, że zbrodnia musi być ukarana. Rozdział trzeci ukazuje Stambuł oczami Ahmeta Ümita, który jest bardzo przywiązany do tego miasta – mieszka tam już ponad dwanaście lat – i zawsze podkreśla, że nie ma takiego drugiego miejsca na świecie.
