Modern active dressings in the treatment of venous leg ulcers.

Around 1% of population suffers from venous leg ulcers. Over the last few years the problem is growing due to aging of population. The study is a rewiev based on the novel literature and has original clinical data provided. The aim of the study was to focus on the problem of venous leg ulcers, their diagnosis and treatment and to highlight the modern active wound dressings used nowadays. Ethiopathogenesis and clinical data of the venous leg ulcers is stated in the first chapter. The second chapter is focused on the diagnosis and treatment, followed by third which describes modern active wound dressings. The third chapter describes their properties and usage of the different types of dressings. The following chapter states the nurses role in the patients suffering from venous leg ulcers treatment.

Owrzodzenia żylne podudzi występują łącznie u około 1% populacji. W ostatnich latach obserwuje się wzrost częstości ich występowania, także w wyniku starzenia się społeczeństwa. Celem pracy było przedstawienie na podstawie aktualnej literatury naukowej problemu owrzodzeń żylnych podudzi, metod diagnostyki i leczenia, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem nowoczesnych aktywnych opatrunków. Pracę rozpoczyna rozdział opisujący etiopatogenezę i obraz kliniczny owrzodzeń żylnych. Drugi poświęcono metodom diagnostyki i leczenia, trzeci natomiast przedstawia nowoczesne aktywne opatrunki w leczeniu żylnych owrzodzeń podudzi oraz właściwości, cechy charakterystyczne i zastosowanie ich poszczególnych grup. Kolejny rozdział dotyczy roli pielęgniarki w opiece nad chorym z owrzodzeniem.
