Epoka Margaret Thatcher w dziejach brytyjskiego parlamentaryzmu

Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest przedstawienie polityki wewnętrznej Margaret Thatcher oraz omówienie zjawiska thatcheryzmu. Początki działalności politycznej i okoliczności, w jakich Thatcher została liderem Partii Konserwatywnej zawarte są w rozdziale pierwszym. W rozdziale drugim został omówiony proces, który zakończył się objęciem władzy przez pierwszą i do tej pory ostatnia w historii Wielkiej Brytanii premier-kobietę. Aby podkreślić rangę tego wydarzenia szczegółowo opisałam wybory powszechne z 1979 r. Były one nie tylko pierwszym sukcesem wyborczym Partii Konserwatywnej z Margaret Thatcher na czele, ale przede wszystkim początkiem epoki, której wynikiem była poprawa stopy życiowej Brytyjczyków, jak również wzrost prestiżu na arenie międzynarodowej. Wybory z lat 1983 i 1987, dzięki którym premier Thatcher trwała na tym stanowisku nieprzerwanie przez jedenaście lat, zostały omówione na tle reform wprowadzanych przez jej gabinety. Rozdział ostatni dotyczy zjawiska, czy też jak go nazywają niektórzy badacze, doktryny thatcheryzmu. Przedstawione w rozdziale indywidualne cechy charakteryzujące politykę Thatcher mają na celu udowodnienie zasadności nazwania całego szeregu działań prowadzonych przez jej poszczególne rządy mianem doktryny. Mam nadzieję, że praca ta, dzięki swojej skondensowanej formie uwydatni wyjątkowość działań Margaret Thatcher na gruncie polityki brytyjskiej.

The aim of this thesis is presenting the domestic policy of Margaret Thatcher and discussing the phenomenon of Thatcherism. The beginnings of political activity and the circumstances in which Thatcher was the leader of the Conservative Party are included in the first chapter. In the second chapter I presented the process that ended with the assumption of power by the first and so far last in the history of Great Britain Prime Minister-woman. To emphasize the importance of this event I described in detail the general elections of 1979. They were not only the first electoral success for the Conservative Party with Margaret Thatcher as a leader, but most of all it was the beginning of an era that resulted in the improvement of living standards of the British, as well as increased prestige in the international arena. Elections in the years 1983 and 1987, thanks to which Thatcher was the Prime Minister for eleven years, were discussed against the background of the reforms forced by her cabinets. The final chapter concerns the phenomenon, or as some researchers call it, the doctrine of Thatcherism. Presented in the chapter individual characteristics of Thatcher's policy are aimed at proving the validity of naming a whole range of activities carried out by her governments as a doctrine. I hope that this work, with its condensed form, shows the uniqueness of Margaret Thatcher's actions on the ground of British politics.
