The essential issue, which have been presented in this work is fact of erecting, at the turn of the centuries, by Egyptians two monumental memorials – pyramids and obelisks. The second, but not less important issue is so called reception of those monuments, beginning from period of Roman Empire rule until the modern Times. The idea of presentation of those aspects in the first part of this work was necessary to show the timelessness of these monuments. The second part includes catalog of 19th-20th-century application or use of those monuments in the funerary art of Eastern Galicia.

Kluczową kwestią, która została zarysowana w niniejszej pracy jest fakt wznoszenia na przełomie wieków przez Egipcjan dwóch monumentalnych pomników - piramidy i obelisku. Drugą nie mniej ważną kwestią stała się recepcja tych monumentów, począwszy od antyku rzymskiego po czasy nam współczesne. Ujęcie owych aspektów w pierwszej części pracy miało na celu ukazanie ponadczasowości tych pomników. W drugiej części znalazł się katalog ukazujący XIX/XX-wieczne wykorzystanie owych pomników w sztuce sepulkralnej Galicji Wschodniej.
