Urbex as a process of an aesthetic fetishization of technology

The article covers an issue of urban explorations, a modern discipline of a performative character, concentrated on experiencing abandoned, empty areas and structures in urban space. Experiencing outdated technological structures and industrial facilities seems to be especially popular among urban explorers. It also seems that a very specific kind of a space experience is involved in this process. The article examines its aspects and anylyzes an example of finnish Pro Kaapeli movement work on empty Lahti Cable Factory structure.
