Perception of special effects - pure entertainment, or a threat?

Recent film productions show the capabilities of technique. On the screen, you can admire the images so realistic that no one would think that they are fake. Entertainment has reached a new level, in which the viewer is fully absorbed by the world depicted in the film. But whether it constitutes some kind of threat? Since man is able to create a perfect illusion of reality on the screen, whether all these processes which have been developed over the years will not be used against him? The aim of this thesis is to describe the possible threats that follow the use of special effects. And also describe historical background. Although the technologies of film modifications have been known since the beginning of the twentieth century, discussion on the risks associated with special effects was not conducted. Hence the author's interest in the problem. The hope of the author is to get the reader to think about where is the line between entertainment and manipulation, and the actual role of special effects in human life.

Najnowsze produkcje pokazują na co stać technikę. Na ekranie można podziwiać obrazy tak realistyczne, że nikt nie pomyślałby, że nie są one prawdziwe. Rozrywka osiągnęła nowy poziom, w którym widz jest w pełni pochłonięty przez świat przedstawiony w filmie. Jednak czy nie stanowi to pewnego rodzaju zagrożenia? Skoro człowiek jest w stanie stworzyć doskonałą iluzję rzeczywistości na ekranie, to czy wszystkie te procesy, które były rozwijane przez lata nie zostaną wykorzystane przeciwko niemu? Celem poniższej pracy jest opisanie możliwych zagrożeń jakie idą za wykorzystywaniem efektów specjalnych z uwzględnieniem ich tła historycznego. Pomimo, że technologie modyfikacji obrazów filmowych znane są już od początku XX wieku, to temat zagrożeń jakie za sobą niosą nie był do tej pory poruszany. Stąd zainteresowanie autora danym problemem. Nadzieją autora jest skłonienie czytelnika do zastanowienia się gdzie jest granica pomiędzy rozrywką, a manipulacją oraz nad faktyczną rolą efektów specjalnych w życiu człowieka.
