The escapes from Youth Educational Centre in Mszana Dolna and its determinants

The escapes of minors from rehabilitation centres are considered to be one of the major educational and behavioral problems. There are preventive, as well as corrective actions taken; nonetheless, the scale of the problem is still appalling. The following thesis consists of three chapters that has theoretical and empirical nature. There are the legal aspects of the functioning of Youth Educational Centres, as well as the procedures of placing minors in the centre presented. The thesis includes the research results on the frequency and conditioning of the escapes according to the opinions of the alumni, and the principal of Youth Educational Centre in Mszana Dolna. There were such postulates as, inter alia; the educational and rehabilitative actions taken, should concentrate on the analysis and quest for individual reasons for escaping the centre, instead of impeding the escapes of minors. What was highlighted in this thesis was the necessity of the further, and more thorough analysis of the problem to increase the efficiency of the whole rehabilitation process.

Ucieczki nieletnich z placówek resocjalizacyjnych stanowią współcześnie jeden z najważniejszych problemów wychowawczych. Podejmowane są działania zapobiegawcze i naprawcze; pomimo to skala zjawiska jest zatrważająca. Niniejsza praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów o charakterze teoretyczno – empirycznym. Przedstawiono prawne aspekty funkcjonowania i procedury umieszczania nieletnich w Młodzieżowych Ośrodkach Wychowawczych. Zaprezentowano wyniki przeprowadzonych badań na temat częstotliwości i uwarunkowań ucieczek w opinii wychowanków i dyrektora Młodzieżowego Ośrodka Wychowawczego w Mszanie Dolnej. Wysunięto także postulaty m.in. podejmowane działania wychowawczo – resocjalizacyjne powinny koncentrować się na analizie i poszukiwaniu indywidualnych źródeł nielegalnego opuszczania placówki – nie zaś na utrudnianiu ucieczki nieletnim. Podkreślono konieczność dalszej, pogłębionej analizy zjawiska w celu zwiększenia efektywności procesu resocjalizacji.
