The public consultation process as forms of civic participation basing on the state of affairs in Kraków.

The aim of the following BA thesis is to evaluate and assess the public consultation process as forms of civic participation basing on the state of affairs in Kraków. Presenting the institution of direct democracy and social participation, the author enables the readers to understand the genesis of public consultation. The effectiveness of this form of engaging the inhabitants in the issues of their city, as well as its reception have been evaluated by means of an analysis of the procedures used to implement social consultations in one of the Polish cities. The thesis includes considerations about the purpose, importance and reason of the consultation process in the management of the city.

Celem pracy jest przedstawienie oraz ocena procesu konsultacji społecznych jako formy bezpośredniej partycypacji obywatelskiej na przykładzie Krakowa. Autor poprzez przedstawienie instytucji demokracji bezpośredniej oraz partycypacji społecznej umożliwia poznanie genezy konsultacji społecznych. Za pomocą analizy procedur stosowania konsultacji społecznych w jednym z Polskich Miast, oceniono efektywność oraz sposób odbioru tej formy włączania społeczeństwa w sprawy dotyczące życia publicznego przez mieszkańców. Praca zawiera rozważania na temat celu, znaczenia i potrzeby stosowania konsultacji społecznych w procesie zarządzania miastem.
