Financing and organization of non-public art galleries in Poland on the example of selected institutions in Cracow

Praca jest poświęcona działalności niepublicznych galerii sztuki w Polsce. Na tle historii ruchu galeryjnego, przedstawiono największe problemy właścicieli i osób zarządzających współczesnymi placówkami zajmujących się działalnością wystawienniczą oraz handlem dziełami sztuki. W pracy przedstawiono także przykładowe modele niepublicznych galerii sztuki. Na podstawie wywiadów przeprowadzonych z właścicielami oraz osobami prowadzącymi galerie, przeanalizowano sytuację placówek tego typu w Krakowie.

The work is focused on the activities of private art galleries in Poland. Against the background of the historical gallery movement, presented the biggest problems of owners and managers of modern institutions involved in the activities of the exhibition and the art trade. The paper also presents exemplary models of private art galleries. Based on interviews with the owners and managers of the galleries, analyzed the situation of institutions of this type in Cracow.
