Analiza porównawcza francuskich i polskich tłumaczeń nazw własnych: analiza imion i nazwisk bohaterów w serii "Harry Potter"

Cette recherche se concentre sur l'analyse comparative des traductions française et polonaise des prénoms, noms de famille et surnoms des protagonistes des sept tomes de la série sur Harry Potter de J. K. Rowling. Ce répertoire très riche de noms divers était un grand défi pour chaque traducteur de la saga. Les traductions de François Ménard et de Andrzej Polkowski diffèrent considérablement entre eux en termes du choix des techniques de traduction et de l’image du destinataire qui en ressort.

The research focuses on the analysis of the French and Polish translations of first names, surnames and nicknames of the protagonists in the seven books of the ‘Harry Potter’ series written by J. K. Rowling. This very rich and diverse set of names has been a big challenge for every translator of the saga. The translations of François Ménard and Andrzej Polkowski differ significantly in terms of selection of applied techniques and images of the target audience emerging from them.

Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest analiza porównawcza tłumaczenia francuskiego oraz polskiego imion, nazwisk oraz przezwisk bohaterów siedmiu tomów z serii o Harrym Potterze autorstwa J. K. Rowling. Ten bardzo bogaty i różnorodny zbiór nazw stanowił duże wyzwanie dla każdego tłumacza sagi. Przekłady François Ménarda oraz Andrzeja Polkowskiego różnią się od siebie znacząco pod względem doboru użytych technik oraz, wyłaniających się z nich, obrazów docelowego odbiorcy.
