The Taliban Movement and American intervention in Afghanistan

Niniejsza praca licencjacka stanowi opis Ruchu Talibów oraz interwencji amerykańskiej w Afganistanie. W rozdziale pierwszym zaprezentowano początki formowania się władzy komunistycznej w Afganistanie, począwszy od zamachu stanu przeprowadzonego przez Ludowo-Demokratyczną Partię Afganistanu (27 kwietnia 1978 r.). Przedstawiono przemiany polityczne związane z interwencją radziecką (1979–1988 r.), kładącą podwaliny pod późniejszą wojnę domową (1988–1992 i 1992–2001 r.). Rozdział drugi traktuje o Ruchu Talibów – od powstania tego ruchu, po okres sprawowania przez nich władzy w Afganistanie aż po upadek. Część trzecia to charakterystyka ideologiczna ugrupowania. Kolejny rozdział to zarys interwencji amerykańskiej w Afganistanie. Rząd USA w odpowiedzi na akt terroru z 11 września 2001 r., 7 października tego samego roku rozpoczął operację zbroją na obszarze państwa afgańskiego; w dość szczegółowy sposób zaprezentowano chronologię akcji bojowych.

The present BA thesis ( bachelor’s thesis) provide a description of The Taliban Movement and American intervention in Afghanistan. In the first chapter there was a presentation of the beginnings of creating of Communist authorities in Afghanistan, starting from a coup d'état conducted by People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan ( 27th April, 1978). Moreover, the political changes connected with the Soviet’s intervention (1979- 1988) , which laid the grounds for the later civil war (1988-1992 and 1992-2001), were presented. The second chapter address The Taliban Movement- since their formation, through the time of government in Afghanistan, until their collapse. The third part is an ideological characteristic of this party. The next chapter is an outline of the American intervention in Afghanistan. The US government in response to the act of terror of 11th September 2001, on October 7th of the same year has started the military operation in the area of the Afghan state; the chronology of the warlike action was presented in detail.
