Institutional educational and cultural activity of the elderly

Niniejsza praca dotyczy instytucjonalnej aktywności edukacyjno – kulturalnej seniorów. W pierwszej części zostały przedstawione definicje ukazujące rozumienie starości w różnych aspektach. Ujęto także zagadnienie zmian demograficznych w Polsce i podkreślono ich wpływ na funkcjonowanie całego społeczeństwa. Zwrócono uwagę na konieczność odpowiedniego przygotowania się ludzi do czekających ich zmian trybu życia poprzez tak zwane wychowanie do starości. Opisano również role społeczne seniorów oraz ich życiowe potrzeby. Druga cześć pracy skupia się na instytucjach aktywizujących osoby starsze.W ostatniej części zawarto wyniki badań zebranych przez autorkę wraz z opracowaniem ich w programie IBM SPSS Statistics oraz analizą ich pod kątem instytucjonalnej aktywności edukacyjno – kulturalnej seniorów.

This thesis concerns institutional educational and cultural activity of the elderly. The first part contains definitions presenting the understanding of “old age” in various aspects. It also depicts the issue of demographic changes in Poland and their influence on the functioning of the whole society. The necessity of an appropriate preparation for the future lifestyle changes through the so called education for old age has been pointed out. Social roles of the elderly and their life needs have been described. The second part of the thesis focuses on the institutions motivating elderly people. The last part presents the results of the research collected and processed with IBM SPSS Statistics by the author as well as their analysis with special attention paid to the institutional educational and cultural activity of the elderly.
