The linguistic aspect of the translation of musicals lyrics. Based on translation into modern Russian.

The subject of this work are linguistic features of the translation of musical texts. The research provides a synthesis of the literature of the subject and the comparative analysis of the source text and its translation into Russian of fragments of musicals "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Metro".A musical is an interdisciplinary work that connects theater, music, especially opera and dance. Like every musical track, the musical also transmits meaning on the text and music levels. A musical utterance is possible due to various qualities, such as rhythm, tempo, loudness, intonation, stress. For the vocal text, in addition to semantics, pragmatics is also very important, because it depends on the interpretation of each performance of the same track.Translation of the vocal text is more difficult than the translation of independent texts due to the structural limitations associated with the musical notation. The location of the stress, the number of syllables and the organization of vowels and consonants are crucial for the performance of a song. Translating musical texts, one must pay attention to the structures and phraseology typical for the original language. The translator must keep a balance between the sound design corresponding to the original text and the semantic accuracy.In the part devoted to the analysis of translations, the construction of the phrase in the source texts and several versions of the Russian translation is reviewed. It turns out that it is almost impossible to completely imitate the original number of syllables and at the same time accurately translate the meaning, the play of words and all the linguistic and cultural nuances. Sometimes an interpreter must make a conscious grammatical error in order to subordinate the text to the music that controls it, because music always has an advantage over the text.The results of the analysis show that even if both the musical itself and its translation are complex, the translators have different ways to improve their work, and the translated musicals, despite the imperfections, are popular.

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy jest lingwistyczny aspekt tłumaczenia tekstów muzycznych. Prowadzone badania stanowią syntezę literatury przedmiotu oraz analizy porównawczej tekstu źródłowego i jego tłumaczenia na język rosyjski fragmentów musicali "Jezus Chrystus Superstar" i "Metro".Musical to interdyscyplinarne dzieło łączące teatr, muzykę, zwłaszcza operę oraz taniec. Podobnie jak każdy utwór muzyczny, musical przekazuje znaczenie zarówno na poziomie tekstu jak i muzyki. Muzyczne wypowiedzi są możliwe dzięki różnym cechom, takim jak rytm, tempo, głośność, intonacja, stres. W przypadku tekstu wokalnego, oprócz semantyki, istotną rolę spełnia pragmatyka, ponieważ to od niej zależy interpretacji każdego wykonania danego utworu.Tłumaczenie tekstu wokalnego jest trudniejsze niż tłumaczenie niezależnych tekstów z powodu ograniczeń strukturalnych związanych z notacją muzyczną. Rozmieszczenie akcentu, liczba sylab i organizacja samogłosek i spółgłosek ma niezwykle istotne znaczenie dla wykonania utworu. Tłumacząc teksty muzyczne, należy zwrócić uwagę na struktury i frazeologię właściwą dla oryginalnego języka. Tłumacz musi zachowywać równowagę między dźwiękową konstrukcją oryginalnego tekstu i wiernością semantycznej.W części poświęconej analizie tłumaczeń przeanalizowano budowę frazy w tekstach źródłowych i kilka wersjach tłumaczenia rosyjskiego. Okazuje się, że niemal niemożliwe jest odwzorowanie pierwotnej liczby sylab, a jednocześnie dokładne przełożenie znaczenia, odtworzenie słów i wszystkich niuansów językowych i kulturowych. Czasami tłumacz musi świadomie popełnić błąd gramatyczny, aby podporządkować tekst muzyce, która zawsze ma nadrzędne znaczenie nad tekstem.Wyniki analizy wskazują, że nawet jeśli w przypadku tłumaczeń tekstów musicali struktura tekstu predeterminowana jest muzyką, tłumacze mają różne sposoby na możliwie najdoskonalsze tłumaczenie.
