Extracurricular sociotherapeutic activities for children and young adolescents in Krakow

The following dissertation focuses on the offer of extracurricular sociotherapy classes available for children and young adolescents in Krakow. The aim of this thesis is to present the bona fide state of these activities, provide more details regarding the type of therapy, research the accessibility of information and to create some kind of itinerary for the current offer. Conclusions and analysis are based on the data collected during a study with the help of managers of institutions which offer sociotherapeutical activities for children and young adolescents in Krakow. The research was conducted with the use of the author’s own questionnaire created specifically for the thesis and analysis of information available on the websites of the aforementioned institutions. The dissertation consists of an introduction, one section focusing on the theory of sociotherapy, a methodological section, presentation and report of the findings. The theoretical section contains three chapters with an overview of literary sources dedicated to such topics as: history, aims and premises of sociotherapy as well as it’s organization, the addressees of sociotherapy, their needs, diagnosis, group development, the qualifications and practices of the personnel in charge of the classes as well as various models of sociotherapeutical group development. The focal points of the next part of this thesis are the methodological assumptions of the research, establishing the terminology used in the latter part of the dissertation and characterization and conduct of the research. The thesis is concluded with a presentation of the findings and a summary and synopsis based on a comprehensive analysis of the collected data.

Niniejsza praca dotyczy oferty pozaszkolnych zajęć socjoterapeutycznych dla dzieci i młodzieży organizowanych na terenie miasta Krakowa. Celem pracy było ukazanie faktycznego stanu oferowanych zajęć socjoterapeutycznych, zdiagnozowanie dostępności do informacji na temat owych zajęć oraz stworzenie pewnego rodzaju przewodnika po aktualnej ofercie. Wnioski i analizy dotyczące przedmiotu badań oparte zostały na materiale badawczym zgromadzonym podczas wywiadów przeprowadzonych z dyrektorami placówek deklarujących oferowanie zajęć socjoterapeutycznych dla dzieci i młodzieży oraz pochodzącym z analizy stron internetowych placówek. Praca składa się ze wstępu, części teoretycznej, części metodologicznej oraz prezentacji i omówienia wyników badań. Część teoretyczną, złożoną z trzech rozdziałów, poświęciłam przeglądowi literatury dotyczącej następujących tematów: historii, celów i założeń socjoterapii oraz jej organizacji, uczestników zajęć socjoterapeutycznych, a w tym ich potrzeb, diagnozy, rozwoju grupowego, oraz osób prowadzących wyżej wymienione zajęcia, w kontekście posiadanych przez nich kwalifikacji, pełnionych zadań oraz modeli kierowania grupą. W kolejnej części zaprezentowałam metodologiczne założenia badań własnych, ustaliłam siatkę pojęciową, którą posługiwałam się w dalszych częściach pracy oraz scharakteryzowałam obszar badań i ich przebieg. Rozprawę zakończyłam prezentacją zebranego materiału badawczego oraz podsumowaniem i opisaniem wniosków sformułowanych na podstawie wnikliwej analizy danych.
