Historia krakowskiego Stowarzyszenia Società Dante Alighieri w okresie międzywojennym

The article reconstructs the history of Kraków’s Committee of the Società Dante Alighieri in the period between the wars, when Poland finally regained its independence. The goal of the research is to provide a complete information on Polish-Italian cultural relations in this period, it presents a contribution to the history of teaching Italian language and literature in Poland. The most important protagonists of Società Dante in this period of time will be presented in the article, their important scientific work as well as strong links between Società Dante and the Jagiellonian University. The article will also cover the diplomatic function of Società Dante Alighieri in the years of cultural ferment – the function which was a fundamental factor for the development of Roman Philology studies and in particular the beggining of Italian Studies in Kraków as well as Polish Studies in Italy.

Artykuł rekonstruuje historię krakowskiego Stowarzyszenia Società Dante Alighieri w okresie międzywojennym. Celem artykułu jest dostarczenie pełnej informacji o polsko-włoskiej współpracy kulturowej w tym okresie, stanowiącej istotny wkład w historię nauczania języka włoskiego i włoskiej literatury w Polsce. Artykuł ma także na celu zaprezentowanie sylwetek najważniejszych przedstawicieli Società Dante z uwzględnieniem ich dorobku naukowego oraz ich związków z Uniwersytetem Jagiellońskim. W artykule poddano rowniez analizie funkcję dyplomatyczną Società Dante Alighieri w latach tzw. fermentu kulturalnego. Funkcja ta odegrała niezwykle ważną rolę w procesie rozwoju studiów nad filologią romanską, a zwłaszcza zainicjowania studiów włoskich w Krakowie, a także polonistyki we Włoszech.
