Lithuanian threat to the Piast lands in the 13th century

This work presents issues related to the Lithuanian raids of the Polish lands in the 13th century. It consists of three chapters. The first discusses the Lithuanian expeditions to the Ruthenian lands and Livonia, their influence on the formation of the Lithuanian state and the first expeditions to Poland in 1200-1236. The second chapter presents the battles between the Poles and the Lithuanians during the reign of King Mindaugas, as well as the cooperation between individual dukes of the Piast dynasty and the Lithuanians. The third part of the work covers the years from Mindaugas' death in 1263 to the end of the 13th century. Thus it describes a time of increasingly frequent raids, caused, among other things, by a civil war in Mazovia.

Niniejsza praca przedstawia zagadnienia związane z najazdami Litwinów w XIII wieku na ziemie polskie. Składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W pierwszym omówione zostały wyprawy litewskie na ziemie ruskie i Inflanty, ich wpływ na wykształcenie się państwa litewskiego oraz pierwsze wyprawy na Polskę w latach 1200-1236. Drugi rozdział przedstawia walki Polaków z Litwinami za panowania króla Mendoga, a także współpracę między poszczególnymi książętami z dynastii Piastów a Litwinami. Trzecia część pracy obejmuje lata od śmierci Mendoga w 1263 roku do końca XIII wieku. Opisuje więc czas coraz częstszych najazdów, spowodowanych między innymi wojną domową na Mazowszu.
