German protest parties and their leaders as a response of the society to challenges of modernity

The article aims at presenting various types of leadership shown by the group of so called protest parties, based on the example of the Federal Republic of Germany. The analysis goes from the definition of the protest parties, through their detailed characteristic, up to the description of the specific environment which the German political system poses to these organizations. The following organizations: The Greens, The Pirate Party and Alternative for Germany come under close scrutiny in the second part of the article. The analysis proves that the non-standard type of leadership is not only an important characteristic of this group of modern political parties, but also an alternative solution to the current political and social issues.
