Do journals - organs of libraries - support their users success in the era of information society

Na przykładzie środowiska krakowskiego na początku 21. wieku pokazano rolę czasopism organów własnych naukowych bibliotek we wspomaganiu sukcesu ich użytkowników. Zaakcentowano odrębność w realizowaniu celów przez czasopisma bibliotek naukowych humanistycznych. Złożono propozycje ważne dla przyszłości tego rodzaju czasopism, związane z wykorzystaniem ICT oraz międzynarodowych standardów edytorskich.

The example of Kraków milieu at the beginning of the 21st century is used to show the role of journals - organs of research libraries - in supporting their users’ success. The emphasis is put on dissimilarity between humanistic libraries and other research libraries in the way they formulate and achieve goals of their journals. Finally, some proposals are presented, which suggest close relations between the future of such journals and using of ICT as well as implementing international editorial standards.
