SENSATIONS IN DOUBLE ROLES. THE 'LIEUX DE MEMOIRE' AND THE 'MILLIEUX DE MEMOIRE' IN THE MEDIA (Szenzaciok kettos szerepben. Az emlekezes helyei es milioi a mediaban)

In this paper the authors examine what role the press fulfills in forming the memory of modem societies. They employ the concept of Pierre Nora, French historian, according to which the 'milieux de memoir' disassemble in the modem societies and their role is taken over by the 'lieu de memoir' in maintaining the memory of societies. This study demonstrates that both the places and the milieus of memories are present in the media thanks to the so-called 'sensation-based' (or 'evergreen') public life topics.
