Znaczenie wzorców jednostek miar w rozwoju gospodarki

W związku z dynamicznym rozwojem współczesnej gospodarki światowej i związanym z tym rozwojem infrastruktury metrologicznej w referacie podjęto próbę przedstawienia znaczenia wzorców jednostek miar i ich rozwój w ostatnim okresie. Omówiono rolę wzorców w światowym systemie miar oraz znaczenie porozumienia o „Wzajemnym uznawaniu państwowych wzorców jednostek miar oraz świadectw wzorcowania i świadectw pomiarów wydawanych przez krajowe instytucje metrologiczne”. Referat przedstawia omówione w dużym skrócie wzorce jednostek miar utrzymywane przez Główny Urząd Miar.

Metrology is the science of measurement and its applications. Metrology comprises all theoretical and practical aspects of measurements, irrespective of the value of measurement uncertainty and the field of application. The fast development of the contemporary global economy based on innovative technologies poses new challenges to modern metrology. Economical progress requires reliable measurements and tests that are internationally accepted, so that they do not constitute a technical barrier to trade and industrial development. The prerequisite for reliability of measurements and tests is availability of the metrological infrastructure. One of the most important elements of that infrastructure are measurement standards of possibly highest accuracy. This paper presents measurement standards maintained in the Central Office of Measures and their role in the national metrological infrastructure.
