Agropolis. Część I. Nowa Atlantyda

Współczesne strategie tworzenia zrównoważonych ekosystemów miejskich stały się podstawą nowych koncepcji miasta, w których zaciera się różnica między funkcjami dotychczas będącymi domeną terenów wiejskich i miejskich – miasto staje się miejscem produkcji rolniczej. Taka forma przekształceń struktury funkcjonalno-przestrzennej miasta stanowi nową koncepcję kontynuacji idei integracji środowiska naturalnego z miastem – XIX-wiecznej utopii miasta-ogrodu Ebenezera Howarda, której pierwowzorem była Nowa Atlantyda Francisa Bacona (XVII w.).

Contemporary strategies for creating sustainable urban ecosystems have become the basis for a new concept of the city in which the distinction between the functions blurs although they once were the domain of rural and urban areas, and the city becomes a place of agricultural production. This form of transformation of the urban structure represents a new continuation idea of integration of the environment and the city – 19-century utopian Garden City Ebenezer Howard, whose prototype was Francis Bacon’s New Atlantis.
