Postęp współczesnej medycyny przyczynił się do powstania nowego zawodu medycznego - diagnosty laboratoryjnego, wcześniej nieznanego. Diagnosta laboratoryjny należy do grupy tzw. zawodów medycznych i jest to zawód zaufania publicznego. Dostęp do zawodu diagnosty laboratoryjnego i standardy prawne jego wykonywania reguluje Ustawa o diagnostyce laboratoryjnej z 27 lipca 2001 r. Przedmiotem artykułu jest przybliżenie prawnych regulacji dotyczących wykonywania tego zawodu.

Progress of the present medicine resulted in emerging a new autonomous medical occupation - laboratory diagnostician, which was earlier unknown. A laboratory diagnostician belongs to the group of the so-called medical professions and it is the occupation of the public confidence. Laboratory Diagnosis Act of 27 July 2001 regulates the access to laboratory diagnostician occupation and the legal principles of its execution. The purpose of this article is to present legal regulations on the execution of this occupation.
