The author provides a detailed analysis of selected aspects of business competitiveness. She pays special attention to problems related to quality management and knowledge management. She stresses that intellectual capital management provides a business with tangible advantages in the form of e. g. increased intellectual capital, possible elimination of mistakes, increased innovation, creativity and competitiveness. The challenging task that this imposes on science is the development of methods of evaluating knowledge and intellectual capital.
