Three basic types of regular surface texture generated by plunge grinding with the wheel having helical grooves.

The paper presents the possibilities of regular surface texture generation by plunge grinding with the wheel prepared in a special way. The simple variant of the method consists plunge grinding with the wheel having helical grooves obtained by single point diamond dressing. Three basic types of surface may by shaped as the effect of specific wheel surface reproduction. Geometrical characteristics of resulted regular surface texture are presented for each of three types of surface by kinematical approach. The characteristics include the shape and dimensions of individual grooves generated on the work surface and their relative arrangement.

Prosta odmiana tej metody polega na zastosowaniu ściernic z rowkami śrubowymi, utworzonymi przez jednoziarniste obciągacze diamentowe. Szczególny mechanizm odwzorowania obwodu ściernicy umożliwia uzyskanie trzech podstawowych typów powierzchni. Przedstawiono geometryczne charakterystyki trzech uzyskiwanych tą metodą regularnych struktur geometrycznych, stosując podejście kinematyczne. Charakterystyki powierzchni opisują kształt i wymiary pojedynczych rowków utworzonych na powierzchni obrabianej oraz ich wzajemne rozmieszczenie.
