W artykule przedstawiono formowanie się emisji cząstek stałych, zwrócono szczególną uwagę na koncentrację nanocząstek i cząstek bardzo drobnych w silnikach z zapłonem samoczynnym i przedstawiono pozasilnikowe możliwości ich zmniejszania.

In the paper various possibilities of contradicting excessive pulverization of particulate matter in exhaust gases are considered. Fuel properties and its enhancing components, catalytic converters application and engine modification were taken into account. Presently the application of exhaust gases filters can be trusted as the only way to cope with problems of environmental hazard caused by particulate matter emission.
