Technological conception of the treatment of alkaline wastewater collected in the "Górka" reservoir situated in Trzebinia commune area
In this paper the results of the investigation on alkaline wastewater treatment have been presented. The wastewater derived from the ,,Górka" reservoir, which is located in the post-mining excavation in the southern part of Trzebinia city. The extremely high pH value, high mineralization (salinity) and the presence of organic compounds, some trace elements and also heavy metals, whose concentrations are multiple more than natural geochemical background, characterise the wastewater. The reverse osmosis method was proposed for their treatment. Attempts in the quarter-commercial scale of the production were performed. On the basis of their results the process optimisation, choosing the membrane type and the process conditions was conducted. The application of the osmotic membrane SG2540PLUSCHT at 288 K and pressure 6 MPa, using the concentrated technically pure HC1 as a neutralization agent enables obtaining about 75% recovery. It permits wastewater treatment to the level corresponding with class IV of water quality. The wastewater treatment is the first as well as the main stage of the excavation reclamation project allowing its succeeding stages realization.
